Rockin’ Zero®

Zero Euthanasia of Dogs & Cats

Rockin’ Zero® is a movement based on the proven fact that it is possible to eliminate the euthanasia of healthy adoptable dogs and cats.  It’s a dream that is very achievable!

Our goal is to completely eradicate the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable dogs and cats in the St. Louis Metro area through best practice spay/neuter programs.  We hope other organizations will join this movement so this goal can be achieved not only in St. Louis, but eventually in the entire USA as well.

This goal has been achieved in New Hampshire where Peter Marsh and his organization have spearheaded best practice spay/neuter initiatives and programs that have effectively eradicated the euthanasia of healthy adoptable dogs and cats. In fact, in New Hampshire they are importing dogs and cats into the state to adopt out because the programs have been so effective.

Due to pet over population in St. Louis, we currently are euthanizing about 20,000 cats and dogs every year, and in the USA the number is in the millions.

Sheltering and Adoption programs are very important and are helping a great deal to save lives.  But adoption will not solve the huge underlying problem – the number of people that want to adopt a cat or dog cannot even begin to keep up with the rate at which cats and dogs reproduce.

Targeted best practice spay/neuter programs are the fastest and only way to achieve Zero.

Are you ROCKIN’ ZERO® with us?  By supporting BARC with a donation, you will help to fund spay/neuter surgeries for the pets of those most in need in the St. Louis metro area.
